Contest Rules
Ensure your submission meets the guidelines to qualify for the 2025 Wings Over the Rockies Photo Contest. From entry limits to editing restrictions, these rules are designed to maintain fairness and celebrate authentic, creative photography.

IMAGE REQUIREMENTS

Images do not have to be taken within the last year or within the Columbia Valley. However, we encourage the entry of images taken recently (within the last couple of years), and those taken in or around the Canadian Rockies are especially welcome.

The use of AI-generated content or aggressive photo manipulation (e.g., compositing, removing or adding elements) is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.

Basic editing, such as adjustments to contrast, exposure, and color tones, is permitted to enhance the image while maintaining its authenticity.

Files must be submitted in JPEG format with a maximum file size of 20 MB.​​​

DEADLINES

Submissions open on February 15, 2025, and close on April 30, 2025.

Entries submitted beyond the deadline will not be considered.
ENTRY LIMITS & FEES

Contestants may submit up to 5 images per $20 entry fee.
​

There is no limit to how many times contestants can submit.
​

A portion of the proceeds will support the Ross MacDonald Legacy Fund
PRIZES
-
1 Grand Prize winner will be awarded in each category by jury selection process.
​

Prizes for each category are estimated at $200 - $500 in value and have been graciously provided by our sponsors.

Category winners will also have their images professionally printed and displayed at the Festival Gala on May 10th 2025
DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY

Drone photography is permitted, however the photographer must maintain all relevant drone operation permits.
​

Any imagery of wildlife taken by drone must be done ethically to avoid disturbing wildlife or their habitat.
